About Us

Peter has practiced continuously for 25 years. He has represented local, national and international clients. His legal advise is candid and honest. He is results oriented and works for his clients to achieve the best possible result with the least cost. He and his staff provide exceptional legal counsel that is personal and responsive to client needs.

Peter has been involved with a wide variety of litigation and business law engagements. He practiced throughout the maritime provinces providing services to a wide variety of clients. Many of his cases have involved more difficult or complex matters. He has practiced in all levels of court and in the Supreme Court of Canada.

Services are available to individuals, institutions, and law firms, either as lead counsel, or in such subsidiary roles as providing opinions on legal points or secondary opinions and research.

Peter is a member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society.

Peter C. Ghiz

Peter graduated Dalhousie University in 1977 (B. Comm) 1979 (M.B.A.) and 1988 (L.L.B.) He became a member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island in 1989 and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 1994.

He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, a board member of the Community Legal Information Association and Hospice PEI. Currently he sits on the Real Property and the Unauthorized Practice Committees of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island. He is a member of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce.

Peter has a well-established and recognized practice. Apart from his regular practice, he is frequently retained to litigate various public interest matters. In appropriate cases, he has provided services pro bono.

Tamara Perry

Tamara graduated in 2007 with a Diploma in Executive Office Administration. She has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. She is the first contact person and assists in all matters. She is dedicated to providing prompt businesslike responses to all client enquires and requests.

Morgan Watts

Morgan graduated from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2013 (B. Sc with Honours) and the University of New Brunswick in 2017 (J.D.). While attending Law School, Morgan was elected by his peers to the Vice-President of the Law Students' Society. Morgan was enrolled as an articled clerk in 2017 to Peter Ghiz and joined his firm as an associate in 2018. Bridget Morriscey

Before law school, Bridget completed her undergraduate degree at Dalhousie University, with a major in International Development Studies. Bridget completed her J.D. at the University of New Brunswick, Faculty of Law in 2018 and became a member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island and the Canadian Bar Association in 2018. During her time at UNB, Bridget volunteered with the Pro-Bono Students of Canada Wills Project and Legal Aid New Brunswick, working with clients and senior lawyers to research and draft legal documents. Bridget also worked at Public Legal Education and Information Services of New Brunswick where she did research and drafting of plain-language publications on topics including Health Care Directives and Intimate Partner Violence Legislation.

In time outside of studying and work, Bridget was Chair of the UNB Social Committee, responsible for organizing events such as the Fall Social and Law Ball. While at UNB, Bridget participated in several oral advocacy opportunities. Most recently, Bridget was selected to represent the University of New Brunswick's Faculty of Law at the Kawaskimhon National Aboriginal Moot in March of 2018. Bridget enjoys running, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She resides in Charlottetown with her partner. Bridget is currently completing her Articles with Peter C. Ghiz Law. Her expected bar admission date is June, 2019.
