Peter graduated Dalhousie University in 1977 (B. Comm) 1979 (M.B.A.) and 1988 (L.L.B.) He became a member of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island in 1989 and the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society in 1994.

He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, a board member of the Community Legal Information Association and Hospice PEI. Currently he sits on the Real Property and the Unauthorized Practice Committees of the Law Society of Prince Edward Island. He is a member of the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce.
Peter has a well-established and recognized practice. Apart from his regular practice, he is frequently retained to litigate various public interest matters. In appropriate cases, he has provided services pro bono.
